Zach Jarrett returned to the lineup for the Norfolk (Va.) Tides on Tuesday night, scoring a run in a 3-1 home win over division-leading Durham.
Jarrett, after taking a night off on Tuesday, went 0-for-2, walking once and scoring a run. He batted No. 8 in the batting order and started in centerfield.
Jarrett’s batting average is .244 with seven home runs and 23 RBIs this season, and he has 34 career home runs as he nears 1,300 pro at-bats.
A crowd of 3,681 attended Tuesday night’s Triple-A game.
The six-game series continues on Wednesday night in Norfolk.
The Tides improved to 26-43 and they are in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 22 games back of Durham.

Jarrett has been in Triple-A since a promotion from Double-A Bowie (Md.) on May 19, and he has twice been assigned to the Baltimore Orioles during his career (March 2019 and February 2020).
He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
The Tides will return to Charlotte for a six-game series from Aug. 17-22.
