MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: Jarrett hitless as Gwinnett tops Norfolk

Batting sixth in the order on Thursday night for the Norfolk (Va.) Tides, Zach Jarrett went hitless and visiting Gwinnett (Ga.) won a Triple-A game 6-2.

Jarrett went 0-for-3 and his batting average dipped to .282.

The series continues on Friday night in Norfolk.

The Tides are 17-25 and in fourth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 11 games behind division leader Durham.

Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 after starring at Charlotte. The O’s picked him in the 28th round.

His fans will have an opportunity to see him play close to home on June 29-July 4 when the Tides visit Charlotte for a six-game series.
