KANNAPOLIS – Getting 15 hits — including home runs from three players — the Hickory Crawdads crushed Kannapolis 15=6 on Friday night in South Atlantic League (SAL) baseball.

With a crowd of 1,551 at Intimidators Stadium on hand, the Crawdads rolled. They led 7-2 through four innings, scored five runs in the fifth, and they were up 15-2 when Kannapolis scored for runs in its final at-bat.

Franklin Rollin had three hits, homering twice, and drove in four runs for Hickory. Leody Taveras had a home run among his three hits and had three RBIs, Travis Bolin went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Anderson Tejeda also hit a home run for the Crawdads.

Emerson Martinez (2-1) got the win, working six innings. He gave up four hits, two runs (one earned), walked one and struck out three.

The final two games of the series are in Kannapolis, tonight at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 2:05 p.m.

Hickory comes home for a seven-game home stand that begins on Monday night at 6 p.m. with Rome (Ga.), the Atlanta Braves’ team in the SAL. Tuesday’s second game is at 6 p.m. and the series finale is at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Columbia (S.C.) and Tim Tebow arrive for a four-game series. Game times on Thursday and Friday are 7 p.m., next Saturday’s game is at 6 p.m. and next Sunday’s game starts at 3 p.m.
