BALTIMORE — Former Bandys High pitching star Hunter Harvey, a first-round draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles, is headed to another major league team.
On Friday, the San Francisco Giants claimed Harvey after he was placed on waivers by the Orioles.
Baltimore had to make a decision on its 40-man roster and hoped no other team would claim Harvey, a hard-throwing right-hander whose pro career has been peppered with injuries.
He pitched only 8 2/3 innings this season in the big leagues.
