DURHAM – East Forsyth High, after coming from behind twice to tie Scotland County, won a state 4A football championship with a 35-28 victory at Duke on Saturday night after taking the lead with less than three minutes to play.
East Forsyth (15-0), the West No. 1 seed, won a state football title for the second time in school history.
Scotland County, the East No. 10 seed, finished 9-6.
