DEAL
Former Bandys High star Hayden Deal got his first work since Tuesday with an inning on Sunday in the Mississippi Braves’ 6-1 home win over Biloxi (Miss.).

Deal, a left-handed reliever, worked the seventh inning and protected a 5-1 lead. He allowed one hit and struck out one, throwing strikes on eight of his 15 pitches to four batters.
The outing improved Deal to 1-0 this season with an ERA of 1.88 with 23 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched.
He is 21-15 after 98 pro games with an ERA of 3.04 — he was previously a rotation starter — and with 303 strikeouts in 341 innings.
The Braves (18-21) share second place with Biloxi in the Southern League’s South Division, both trailing Pensacola (Fla.) by 3 1/2 games.
Mississippi is off on Monday and then starts a six-game series on the road at Pensacola on Tuesday.
