HICKORY – The Hickory Crawdads will have early starts to their spring games for the sixth consecutive season, the club announced on Tuesday.

Games scheduled to be played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday on the 2018 schedule will again have 6 p.m. first pitches, while Sunday games during the first half of the South Atlantic League (SAL) schedule will begin at 3 p.m.

The Crawdads’ games on Thursdays will again be at 7 p.m., repeating a first-pitch time the team began a year ago.

All Friday games during the season will start at 7 p.m.

After the SAL All-Star break in June, all games scheduled Monday through Saturday will begin at 7 p.m., and Sunday games begin at 5 p.m.

Additionally, the Crawdads will have nine day games at L.P. Frans Stadium, serving as Education Day, Senior Day, Business Person Lunch Special, and Summer Camp Day Games (see schedule below).

The Crawdads kick off the 2018 season – and their first under ownership of their major league parent club, the Texas Rangers, on April 5 with a seven-game road trip to Greensboro and Delmarva, Md.

Hickory opens the home portion of its schedule on April 12 with four games against West Virginia, followed by three games against Lexington (Ky.).

The Crawdads are at home for Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day in addition to 10 Thirsty Thursdays and 11 Fireworks Fridays.
