All tickets will be general admission and free compliments of the YMCA of Catawba Valley, which will accept donations at the game for its local programs.
Concessions and the Catawba Farms Crawdads Café will be open during the game.
LRU has won the last two exhibitions against the Crawdads – in 2015 and 2016 – and last year’s exhibition game was rained out and not rescheduled.
The Crawdads open the season on April 4 at Lakewood (N.J.) with a four-game series and then play three games at Greensboro.
Hickory’s home opener in the South Atlantic League (SAL) is April 11 against Kannapolis, with individual game tickets going on sale online on March 22. They’ll also be available on March 23 at Frans as part of the Spring Fling, and group tickets, luxury suits and party patios are already on sale for all 70 home games.
For more ticket information or to book a group outing, call the Crawdads at (828) 322-3000 or visit the front office at Frans, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Crawdads announce Christian Concert artists
The Christian Concert acts at Hickory Crawdads games this year will be Sanctus Real and Micha Tyler, the club announced this week.
Sanctus Real will perform after the game on April 27 while Tyler will be there after game on July 27.
Games to both of those playing dates will begin at 5 p.m.
Suites, party patios, picnics and group tickets for both concert dates are on sale and individual game tickets go on sale at the annual Crawdads Spring Fling on March 23.
Individual tickets are $16 and the group rate (20 or more) is $12 per ticket; both include admission to the game and the post-game concerts.
Sanctus Real has been recording for more than 20 years and had released six studio albums. The group won a GMA Dove Award for Modern Rock Album of the Year for the album “Fight the Tide” in 2005 and has been nominated for six other GMA Dove Awards and two Grammys.
Tyler made a splash in the industry with his Christian pop album “Different” in November 2016. The album earned him a nomination for New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
