DEAL

Hayden Deal suffered his second blown save and loss of the season on Tuesday night as Biloxi (Miss.) nipped visiting Mississippi 3-2 in a DoubleA game.

Deal, a left-hander who starred in high school at Bandys, entered the game in the sixth inning with the Braves ahead 1-0. He pitched one inning, giving up three hits and two rumns(both earned), walking none and striking out none.

The game was the first of the second half in the Southern League South Division and the series contimes on Wednesday night in Biloxi.

Deal pitched to six batters and threw strikes n 22 of his 28 pitches.

He is 2-2 this season with an ERA of 3.35 and 31 strikeouts in 40 1/3 innings in 19 games.

Deal has pitched in 106 games as a pro, going 22-17 with an ERA of 3.15 and 316 strikeouts in 357 1/3 innings.

Mississippi (0-1 second half), 29-41 overall) is tied with Pensacola, the first-half division champ, in the early second-half standings behind Biloxi and Montgomery (Ala.).
